Covid-19 Policies and Procedures

Below are the new procedures for Bodyography during the covid-19 pandemic.  They are different from a few months ago!

We have a large hepa air filter running 24 hours a day and add a smaller hepa air filter whenever anyone is in the office.

Our Massage Therapists and Reiki practitioner will be wearing a mask, face shield, apron, and gloves during your session. Our acupuncturist will be wearing a mask (and a face shield, if the client needs to temporarily remove their mask for the acupuncturist to access points) and will maintain at least 6′ of distance when she isn’t applying treatment.  All therapists will maintain 6′ of distance from clients when not in the treatment room.

Client intakes will now be done primarily over the phone (or by videoconference for acupuncture) before the client comes in for their session.  Before each intake, clients will need to complete the “Covid-19 Health Information and Liability Release” form (see “Forms” under “About”) and return it to their therapist.  Clients may email the answers (e.g., #1 No, #2, No, etc.) if they are unable to return the completed form by email.

Clients will be required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth for the entire time they are at Bodyography.  Please bring your own mask.  We will have masks for those who forget theirs or if your mask is too loose-fitting.

When you arrive at Bodyography, please call us from your car (if you drove) or from outside (if you walked or biked) to let us know you have arrived.  The therapist will let you know when you can come in and will ask whether anything has changed since the intake interview.

When you arrive at the door, your therapist will take your temperature.  If your temperature is 100° F or above, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.

Once you enter Bodyography, you will be asked to use hand sanitizer or wash your hands at the sink.

You will sign the “Covid-19 Health Information and Liability Release” form that you have previously completed. (We will have a copy for you to sign, or you may print the document at home, sign it there, and bring it in with you, if you prefer.)

You will enter the treatment room to prepare for the massage.  Clients are asked to bring as few personal possessions as possible and put them all on the client chair during the massage. (Shoes can go on the floor under the chair.)

After the session, please use the hand sanitizer provided in the treatment room before you leave the room. Open the door and wait in the doorway for further instructions from the therapist with regard to payment and rescheduling.

While at Bodyography, please maintain at least 6′ of distance from others whenever possible.  We won’t be giving out cups of water, since we want everyone to stay masked, but you will be allowed to fill your water bottle at our sink, if necessary, so you could have some water immediately upon exiting Bodyography.

If you prefer to pay with your credit card over the phone, we can take your payment at the time of the intake interview.  We would enter the payment as a deposit at that time, then your credit card would be charged after your session (or the deposit would be cancelled, if you were unable to have your session for any reason. The deposit does put a “hold” on that amount on your credit card, which takes a couple of days to clear if the deposit is cancelled.)

In the event that we learn someone is diagnosed with covid-a9 within 14 days of being at Bodyography, we will close for at least 2 days for deep cleaning and will cooperate with the Board of Health on contact tracing.
