BEMER Therapy

Muscle pain, joint pain, fatigue, and chronic back and hip pain are some of the most common complaints that we hear from clients. Aches and pains can be acute or can occur over time due to injury or infection. What do all of these symptoms have in common? Inflammation and poor circulation.

The BEMER (Bio-Electromagnetic Energy Regulation) is a Class II FDA registered medical device that delivers a pulsed electromagnetic frequency (PEMF) to improve circulation by up to 28% percent. The PEMF stimulates microcirculation and general blood flow throughout your body, assisting in healing.

What Does a BEMER Session Include?
At Bodyography, Margaret offers BEMER sessions, in conjunction with regular massage, that are tailored to your needs. The session will include one or more of the following:

  • B-Body – a full pad beneath the sheet on the table so PEMF can be delivered to your entire body
  • Pad – a small lineal pad that can be wrapped around your head, a limb or placed across a painful area of your body
  • Spot – a small circular device that can be used for local areas of inflammation like a joint, hand or foot

How Do I Prepare for a BEMER Session?
We recommend that you drink plenty of water, so you are well hydrated prior to BEMER therapy. We also recommended that you not drink coffee 1 hour before or after your therapy session.

What Can I Expect After a BEMER Session?
The most common responses reported are relaxation, increased energy, lower stress levels, better sleep, and less pain.

Are There Contraindications to BEMER Therapy?
Yes, BEMER is contraindicated if:

  • You have active medical implants that are intended to administer medication (medication pumps)
  • You have had an organ transplant and are taking anti-rejection drugs
  • You are diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis

Consult with your doctor if:
You have a medical implant that is used for stimulation (e.g., pacemakers, defibrillators, brain stimulators, muscle stimulators)

How Often Do Should I Do a BEMER Session?
The circulatory effects of the BEMER can last up to 16 hours. One or two treatments can be beneficial for most people, but the more treatments you have, the greater the benefit. For athletes who are training for an event, treatment on the day prior to the event and the day of the event can assist with performance and recovery. For sustained circulation support, applying BEMER therapy twice per day is ideal.
